Management

•  Developed GIS/EMIS.

•  Strengthening and Improvement of EMIS System in NWFP (Posts created at provincial and district level).

•  Training Need Assessment Survey of District Managers.

•  Separation of Management and Teaching Cadres

•  Job Description for All District Managers and Directorate of E&SE

•  Developed modules for training of District Managers for financial management, personnel, planning and community participation training.

•  Waiver of tuition fee.

•  Distribution of free textbooks from KG to 10th class.

•  70% of ADP for Girls Education.

•  Stipends to girls' students in the backward/low literacy districts of Shangla, Kohistan, Bunair, Battagram, Hangu, Dir Upper and Tank.

•  Networking of 300 Local Circle Offices (50% for female) to be used for monitoring, supervision and teacher training .

•  Developed guide for public's frequently asked questions/answers.

•  Performance based budget introduced in selected schools in district Peshawar , Kohat, Abbottabad & Bannu.

•  PTAs formed and being strengthened. Per Classroom funds enhanced.

•  Education Sector Reforms Unit established to introduce reforms and improve monitoring.

•  Establishment of Mobile Unit for repair and maintenance of furniture at schools on the spot.

Quality Education

•  Developed Teacher Guide Books for textbooks.

•  Developed Teacher Guide Books (General).

•  Instructional Material Developed.

•  Teacher trained in using of teacher guides and instructional materials.

•  Mentor system for teacher training introduced.

•  Strengthening of RITEs and PITE for pre and in-service training of teachers.

•  Service Rules for all cadres revised/updated.

•  Recruitment of primary school teachers localized (75% UC based 25% district based)

•  Recruitment Rules updated.

•  Recruitment Rules relaxed in remote areas.

•  NWFP Education Commission established in 2003.

•  Diploma in Education introduced (18 months course) to replace PTC and CT.

•  Provincial Education Assessment center established to assess and check quality education.

•  Supplementary reading material developed for students.

•  Child friendly schools established (94).

•  7000 additional posts of PTC/PST created as a result of Rationalization by improving the Student Teacher's ratio at Primary level to1:40.

•  Rationalization of Teachers at Secondary level on the basis of increase in enrolment is in pipeline in the coming academic year.

•  Establishment of Examination Commission/Registrar Departmental Examination for 5th & 8th Class exams in pipeline.

•  Uniform In-service Training Manual being developed for all cadres of teachers trainings.

Access

•  Provision of free textbooks to all students from KG-X.

•  Free education from KG-X.

•  Rs. 200/- P.M. stipend to all girls' students of middle/Secondary Schools (Backward Districts).
