Throughout history of human communication, advances in technology have powered paradigmatic shifts in education. Communication between teacher and student is a vital element of successful education. Colleges play a vital role in the socio-economic development of the country and serve as nurseries to institutions of higher education & universities. To ensure the quality of education in colleges it is imperative that the quality of teachers and their level of competence be improved and upgraded through the exposure of modern techniques to Principals and Teachers in teaching, planning, financial and administrative skills.
It is worth mentioning that FEF Management keeping in touch with the District Government identified the site of Building of District Government and in this connection a summary was moved to the Chairman BOD for acquisition of the said building. Proper handing taking was done between District Government and representative of FEF on behalf of Managing Director FEF.
The FEF Academy at Kohat was envisaged for training of Principals and Teachers, the Academy will professionally train them in human resource management, methodologies of teaching, classroom management, and specific culture and sanctity of the institutions they serve. In Academy the professional potential of the teachers and management capacity would be built. The specific objectives of the Academy at that was, firstly to organize training courses for the lecturers and Principals of NWFP colleges on regular basis through out the year secondly to organize seminars and workshops and other such activities as may be directed by competent authority thirdly to conduct studies, surveys and research in accordance with the policies of Frontier Education Foundation fourthly to publish news-letter/ magazines etc. as required by the Managing Director, FEF fifthly to serve as Teacher Resource Center, sixthly to carry out any other activity to be assigned by the Managing Director
The Academy building was handed over to Frontier Education Foundation and the first Director appointed was Professor Shah Tahmas Khan to run the affairs of the FEF Academy , courses were designed for lecturers of Government Colleges and Academy grew with the passage of time. Later on services of Professor Shah Tahmas were replaced by Dr. Mujib Tahir who was transferred from Head Office and posted as Director FEF Academy and Professor Shah Tahmas Khan was posted as Director Administration in Head Office. Presently Academy is running to its full Potential and conducing PCSD, EMC courses for college lecturers and Principals. The atmosphere at the Academy is very peaceful and very conducive for the participant, who attends the training in the Academy,
Academy has been equipped with latest English Language Multi Media computer lab, the first of its kind in NWFP, the lab is offering English Language courses to students and general public on non- profit basis based fee structure. In this regard Frontier Education Foundation Academy has launched the first IFFC (intensive English Course) of 03 weeks duration, beside IFFC, Diploma courses as offered by NUML Islamabad is also organized in evening shift and students has shown keen interest in these classes and first batch is receiving training in this regard.
Frontier Education Foundation is constructing a new building of Academy for which 20 Kanal piece of land in Kohat Development Authority Township was acquired now the construction on the plot has been started and the new building will have Administration & Academic bloc, library, and Teacher Resource Center, Computer lab and English Language Lab. Lastly it is FEF Endeavour to enable the Academy to come up to the expectation and to play very active role in Human Resource Development.
