Introduction

The Provincial Public Safety and Police Complaints Commission, consists of twelve members (six MPAs and six Independent members) and Ex-officio Chairperson as per article 73 of Police Order 2002

History

on 26th August 2003 the Provincial Government notified twelve (12) members of Commission six (6) elected members (MPAs) and six (6) Independent members according to article 73 and 74 of the Police Order 2002 but after the dissolution of Assemblies in 2007 the duration of the six (6) elected members (MPAs) expires, while the independent members carry on their duties.

On 25th August 2008 the tenure of six (6) independent members expired/completed in terms of article 81(1) of Police Order 2002(1st Edition Published on 14th 2002), the independent members of Provincial Public Safety of Police Complaints Commission, NWFP, have been relieved of their duties / responsibilities vide Government of NWFP, Provincial Government Notification No.PPS&PCC/ Independent members/08/Vol.-1, dated 9th October 2008
