In pursuance to the Convention on the Rights of the Child, ratified by Pakistan in 1990, a Commission has been set up at National level and one in each Province to co-ordinate the activities of Child Welfare and Development undertaken by various Government departments and NGOs concerned and to review the progress of implementation of articles of Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC).
The Commission is meeting periodically. The Provincial Commission for Child Welfare and Development (PCCWD) has a complete liaison with the National Commission for Child Welfare and Development (NCCWD) as well as UNICEF for activities relating to Child Welfare and Development.
