The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for finance Engineer, Muhammad
Humayun Khan has said that the Hamza Foundation Welfare Hospital and Blood
Transfusion Services, during the last six years has played a pivotal and
laudable role in providing services to the ailing community, particularly the
thelesemia patients. He expressed these views during his visit to the Hamza
Foundation Peshawar on the eve of World Blood Day on Thursday. On this
occasion, beside others, famous artist and Director Film, Ajab Gul was also
present.

added that he was deeply impressed to know about the basic role being played by
the Hamza Foundation for life of the thelesemia patients. He assured that the
provincial government will whole heartedly support the foundation in its noble
cause. He also announced a donation of Rs. 2.5 million for the foundation
during the current fiscal year 2011.-12.
Earlier, Chairman,
Hamza Foundation presented the overall performance of the foundation since its
inception in July, 2006. He informed that so far 39504 patients have been
provided healthy and screened blood and necessary medicines free of cost. He
said the foundation has 602 patients from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 92 from FATA and
155 from Afghanistan and catering 35 to 40 patients on daily basis. He said the
total annual expenditure of the foundation has reached to the tune of Rs. 15
million, the 98 percent share of which is made –up out of general public
contribution.
Later on, the Minister visited various sections of the hospitals. The
foundation Chairman presented a souvenir to him on this occasion.
