Commissioner Peshawar Division, Tariq Jameel has said that the government
would leave no stone unturned to eradicate polio from the society and would
utilize all the available resources in this regard.
He was presiding over a review meeting of National Immunization Days (Polio
Campaign) in Peshawar on Thursday. District Coordination Officer of Peshawar,
Charsadda and Nowshera, Political Agents of Muhammad and Khyber Agency and EDOs
attended the meeting. The meeting thoroughly reviewed the performance of all of
the three districts and two agencies and expressed satisfaction over the
performance carried out in this regard. The meeting was told that only one case
of polio was identified during the last three months. It was also told that 98%
children in Peshawar, 95% in Nowshera, 99% in Charsadda, 97% in Mohammad Agency
and 96% in Khyber Agency was covered and measures were being taking to cover
100% population. The role of Ulema was also appreciated in polio eradicating
hoped that they would continue their role.
