The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Finance Engr. Muhammad Humayun Khan
has said that education played a pivotal role in the rise and fall of nations
adding that in view of the importance of education the present government was
paying special attention to it.
These
views he expressed while inspecting the proposed site of Govt: Degree College
for Women at Village Kot in Malakand on Tuesday. MPA Syed Muhammad Ali Shah
Bacha, elite of the area and concerned officers of Construction and Works
Department were also present on this occasion. While briefing the minister
about the proposed plan, XEN M. Jameel revealed that the proposed college would
be constructed on 32 kanals of land that would cost about Rs. 200 millions. The
double storey building would comprise separate hostels for lecturers and
students, cafeteria, residence of the principal and two suites for professors.
It may
be mentioned here that Khan Rehman and Fayaz Gul, social workers, eminent
social and political workers of village Kot have volunteered 32 Kanals of land
free of cost for construction of the proposed college.
Appreciating this goodwill gesture of Khan Rehman and Fayaz Gul the minister
said that it would prove a precious asset and play an important role in
development of the area. Earlier, the Finance Minister offered Fateha for the
deceased Haji Hayat Gul of Village Kot and Israr Khan Manager Agriculture
Development Bank.
