The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information, Transport and Inter Provincial Coordination Mian Iftikhar Hussain has said that University of Peshawar is the mother of all universities of the province and is considered one of the best universities of the country. He added, that they would try their best to include this university in the list of best universities of the world.

He expressed these views while talking to the President of Peshawar University Teachers Association, Jameel Ahmad Chitrali and Prof. Dr. Johar Ali Khan who called on him at his office in Peshawar on Wednesday. They, on this occasion besides discussing the problems of university teachers also deliberated upon the upgradation of the newly constructed Mian Rashid Hussain Shaheed Hall in Peshawar University.

Mian Iftikhar said that the provincial government was giving high priority to higher education and they in their four years tenure established 8 universities, 9 campuses and dozens of colleges in the province contrary to the 9 universities in the past 60 years regimes. He added the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government launched “Stori Da Khyber Pakhtunkhwa” educational programme for the encouragement of the talented students. Similarly, the teaching cadre has been restructured and the post of teachers have been upgraded, he maintained.

            The Minsiter while referring to the newly constructed Mian Rashid Husain Shaheed Hall said that there was a special purpose behind the construction of the same hall as Rashid Hussain  was the student of this university and his life  was candle for the new generation. He said that through construction of this hall, Mian Rashid Hussain Shaheed would remain alive for ever and the upcoming generations would get guidance from his life. He while announcing the upgradation of Mian Rashid Hussain Shaheed Hall, said that it would be equipped with all modern equipments and all the facilities required to the student would be ensured in it.
