The Chief Justice of Peshawar High Court, Mr. Justice Dost Muhammad Khan
has appreciated the performance of DIG (Investigation) Muhammad Idrees Khan and
the members of his team in the Special Investigation Unit for discovering the
true story of a triple murder case. The Chief Justice has observed that
the DIG and his team “be issued commendation certificates besides cash prizes
by the PPO/IGP”.
The
Chief Justice made these observations in bail applications wherein one Arbab
Muhammad Nasir committed the triple honour killing in the jurisdiction of
Police Station Par Hoti District Mardan but by taking benefit of being from the
deceaqsed family charged other innocent people. On a previous date of hearing
in the said bail applications, the Chief Justice felt suspicious of the
investigation conducted by a Sub Inspector Muhammad Akbar and thus directed the
police authorities for afresh investigation. Following these directives,
the Special Investigation Unit headed by Muhammad Idrees Khan along with DSP
Inayatullah Shah and Inspector Hasnain Agha who as the CJ observed “conducted
reinvestigation and they deserve appreciation because they made concerted
efforts in a fair and honest manner by laying hands on the real culprits who
were the members of the complainant family and whose name are now mention in
the charge-sheet”. As per the story unearthed, the deceased lady has
eloped with the co-accused due to which Arbab Muhammad Nasir “because of family
honour after making consultations and deliberations with his co-accused
deceitfully brought the lady from Rawalpindi to Mardan and after spending
the night, she along with her two kids were taken in a car and during the
transit all the three were brutally killed and their bodies were thrown in the
fields which on discovery were collected and matter was reported” by the real
culprit himself against the innocent persons. The Special Investigation
Unit “collected sufficient materials and also made some of the accused to make
confessions”. However, the original Investigation Officer Akbar Khan
deliberately did not investigate the case on these lines being in league with
the real culprits against whom the CJ recommended taking proper action.
