The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Barrister Masood Kausar while taking serious note of the damages causing to PESCO supply lines and electricity towers in Peshawar has desired to ensure complete security and efficient pursuance of the registered cases to bring the persons involved to justice.

Presiding over a meeting at Governor’s House Peshawar on Monday, the Governor has said that time and again destruction of public assets in sabotage activities not only causing serious difficulties for the consumers but also a challenge to writ of the govt. which indeed needs to be taken seriously.

The meeting besides commissioners of Kohat and Peshawar and PESCO authorities was also attended by elders of Nawa Kali, Peshawar and Kohat, wherein the Governor was informed that almost 34 electricity towers were fully or partially damaged in certain areas of Peshawar and Kohat which, they added, are causing grave difficulties to the respective people in availing the electricity facility.

Responding to various points raised by elders the Governor further pointed out that there is a need to make joint and collective efforts in overcoming the problem. “This is a very serious issue which we all have to pursue seriously”, he remarked. He also hinted to hold another meeting shortly, wherein, even the Federal Minister for Water and Power will also be invited to participate.

He also took keen interest in the existing methodologies and mechanisms for ensuring protection and safety of the Govt. installations especially the electricity supply lines and towers and said that indeed proper security arrangements have to be made in this respect.
