The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information and Public Relations, Mian Iftikahr Hussain while terming the incidents of Kohistan and Lulusar an open terrorism, has said that the terrorists were trying to give impression of communal riots to their terrorist activities for fulfilling their nefarious design. He however said that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit Baltistan betterly knew their sinister designs and they with grace of Almighty Allah, successfully foil the negative design of the terrorists.

 This he said while talking to the Chief Minsiter Gilgit Baltistan Syed Mehdi Shah at Gilgit the other day. The Minister while sympathizing with the Chief Minister Gilgit Baltistan and people of Gilgit Baltistan on behalf of the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, provincial government and people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, maintained that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were in the grip of sorrow over the above untoward incidents and they were with them in this critical stage.

Mian Iftikhar Hussain and Syed Mehdi Shah were unanimous that people of both the provinces stationed in their respective areas, would be given full protection. The Chief Minister Gilgit Baltistan on this occasion announced of sending a high level delegation to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for permanent safety of Karakuram Highway which would meet the Chief Minister, Governor and other high ups of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. They were also agreed that the Chief Ministers of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit Baltistan would jointly meet the Prime Minsiter of Pakistan in this regard.

The Information Minister continued, after occurrence of the said incidents, the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa convened the meeting on law and order and on the spot sanctioned 270 posts and four mobile vehicles for the safety of Karakuram Highway in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter and 120 out of 270 retired army personnel have been recruited while appointment of the remaining 150 was in the pipeline.

The Chief Minister Gilgit Baltistan, while tanking the government of Khyber Pakht8unkhwa for sympathizing and compensating the Shuhda-e-Kohistan and Lulusar, said that the people of Gilgit Baltistan were happy over the steps of the Govt: of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and it would prove helpful in reducing tension in the area. He said that such contacts between Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit Baltistan should continue in future also for stopping such sorrowful incidents.

Earlier, Mian Iftikhar distributed cheques of Rs. 3 lacs each among the heirs of the Shuhada-e-Kohistan and Lulusar in the Office of the Chief Secretary Gilgit Baltistan. He also met the Speaker, Deputy Speaker, Ministers and Members of the Gilgit Baltistan Assembly and discussed with them the issue in detail.

Meanwhile, the Information Minister also met the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, stationed there in connection with their business and stressed upon them to be aware of the anti state elements who were destroying the peaceful atmosphere of Gilgit Baltistan.
